The female New Rochelle High School student hospitalized after police say she suffered a stab wound during a fight near the high school has life-threatening injuries.

The girl suffered the wound during a fight early Wednesday afternoon outside the Dunkin’ Donuts location on North Avenue, around the corner from the high school.

According to police, officers responded to the scene shortly after 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, where there were reports of two high school-aged females engaged in a fight. During the dispute, one of the two suffered a stab wound, and the other female fled the scene. The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to Jacobi Medical Center with what police described as life-threatening injuries. Her condition was not immediately available.

No arrests have yet been made. 

The incident remains under active investigation. Anyone with information regarding the fight or stabbing have been asked to contact the New Rochelle Police Department's General Investigations Unit by calling (914) 654-2270.
